Birthday Week

This week has been a little busy. On Dec 30 was Steve's 30th birthday. I had a party planned. We meet with family and friend for a couple cold beverages and fun. He finally found out all of the little secrets that I had planned for him. Number one secret was the gift that I got him. If you don't know Steve, he is a big NASCAR fan and a collector of Dale Earnhardt things (and I mean any thing). He has been dieing to get one of these hoods. And as you can see he was very happy.

Here is a little better picture of it.

The second of my secrets was that I had a special cake made for him. I think it is soooo cute. He was a little cranky that I put that picture on it but he got over it in a hurry. Let me tell you, the cake was soooo good.

The picture was from kindergarten.

This is what the cake looked like after Steve got his fingers on it.

Then on the 31st (new years eve) our previous plans feel though so we went to a friends place and watched the hockey game and played a couple of board games. It was a pretty quiet night but that was ok. New years day was "lay around in your pj's day".

Both of us did not go back to work until Jan 3. It was a short work week but mentally it took for ever for the weekend to get here. On Friday afternoon I was sitting at work and in comes a man holding this big thing of flowers. I was kind of hoping that they were for me because have always wanted flowers sent to me. Then he said that they were for Tanis ... I had to think for a minute.. hey, that's me. I finally had flowers sent to me. This has never happened. They are beautiful. I have a great husband.

Yes this picture is taken in my bathroom. I have to put them there because if I don't my cats will eat them (Laura you know that to well) and besides shouldn't every girl have flowers in her bathroom. That way you can't she the soap scum building up on the bathtub.
Well now it is January 6 2007. I am now 29 years old (I have no problems saying it....talk to me next year, it might be a different story). Everyone keeps asking how it feels.... I tell them - Great because I am not as old as Steve. We went to dinner at Red Lobster. I love seafood but don't get it very much. It is hard to make when Steve won't eat it. But today was my day so we went.
