Dreams

Not much is going on there right now. Steve has just started a new job. It sounds like he is really enjoying it. The increase in wage does not hurt either. My job has just under gone a owner transfer. They say that nothing will change but only time will tell it that is true. I have faith that nothing with but......

I found some very exciting news this week. Reba is coming to town. I have always wanted to see her in concert but never thought that she would come. I got tickets and can not wait for July 14 to come. Have you ever had a dream as a kid that you thought would not come true and does. It is great. This is number 3. The first was graduating from college. I was told many years ago that with my learning disability that I would be luck to finish high school and never go to college. Well I did both (I have never used my diploma in the workforce but I know that I did it.) The second was ,may sound funny but, I went to see Stars on Ice a couple of years ago. I was so happy, it was a dream come true. I even shed a couple of tears at the end of the program. It was almost an out of body experience.

The next couple of weeks a going to be really busy. I am going camping the long weekend, the weekend after we are helping with a car rally. In June, I have to go to Edmonton for a dress fitting (bridesmaid dress), a wedding shower. Then in July 7 I have a stag in Edmonton, July 14 the concert, July 21 my 6th anniversary (to my wonderful and loving husband), July 28 my brothers wedding. And who knows what else could be added to the calender.

On that note just remember that no matter how busy your life is ..... Dreams do come true.

Back to reality

Just when you think everything is going great, something happens to knock you back into reality. I went to work on April 29 just like another day. Everything was get or so it only seemed. Then on of my co-worker can up to me and said she need to speak to me. (this only happen when there is a issue with another co-worker.) We went into the a back room and she proceed to tell me that one of our xray tech had had a heart attach and didn't make it. He was 50 years . I was shocked. Here was so many tears that day. I am not sure how we all functioned and kept it all together in front of the patients. Last Wednesday was the memorial service. So it has not been a great week at work. I will really upset last weekend by it. Steve asked me if I knew he really well. I said that I have known him for 10 years and spend more time with him a day then my husband. I knew all about his family's ups and downs.
But after I grasp the concept that he really gone, I have been reminded that life is short . Sometimes you think death is only for old people, but it can happen at anytime. Thank god everyday that you are able to get up and go to the job that you may not like all much. That you are able to talk on the phone to loved ones far away (may not be able to see then in person but take what you can get.) Remember always to let loved ones know that you do love them.

I have had a hard week but it also reminded me not to take things for granted.
